Year of Discovery · YODA

A different path for teenagers.
Three years to find their way.

After Grade 10, many children are pushed to choose a stream and move quickly towards careers they may not fully understand, want, or feel ready for. The Year of Discovery is a three-year journey that gives young people the time, guidance, and space to understand themselves, explore the world, and make thoughtful choices about their future.

Is there a better way?

Education should build a meaningful life,
not just secure admissions.

Too often, the focus becomes exams, marks, and college admission, and not the child’s purpose, strengths, or future well-being. Marks, achievements, and extracurricular activities are important, but they are only milestones. They are not the final goal.

We believe learning should support a child’s lifelong well-being and prosperity. We believe there is a better way.

What is the Year of Discovery?

A 3-year journey designed for self-knowledge and direction.

AS and A Levels are included in Years 2 and 3, but the journey is much bigger than academics alone. It is designed to help students discover who they are, what matters to them, and how they want to contribute to the world.

Year 1
Year 1

Explore & Self-Discover

Students start by asking who they are and what matters to them. Through guided exploration, mentorship and exposure to diverse fields, they surface real interests, not imagined ones.

Year 2
Year 2

Deepen & Build

With a direction emerging, students go deeper. Real research, real prototypes, real entrepreneurship. AS Level coursework anchors rigor while projects carry the learning.

Year 3
Year 3

Showcase & Launch

A body of work comes together, A Levels, capstone projects, a real portfolio. Students leave with a clear sense of what they're building, and where they're headed next.

The Four-Part Framework

Four threads, woven across three years.

The Year of Discovery is built around four important areas of growth. Together they shape a whole human, not just a candidate.

01

Purpose

Students explore questions of meaning and identity.

  • Discovering what matters to them
  • Expanding their worldview
  • Learning self-care
  • Building a sense of direction
02

Self-Learning & Research

Students learn how to learn on their own.

  • Self-learning modules
  • Research work
  • Teaching back what they learn
  • Developing metacognition, or thinking about their own thinking
03

Entrepreneurship

Students learn to see challenges as opportunities.

  • Solving real problems
  • Connecting work to purpose
  • Building useful skills and mindsets
04

Showcase

Students learn how to present their work and stand out.

  • Competitions and recognitions
  • Performances
  • Personal brand-building
  • Networking

Outcomes that last beyond school.

Real Stories, Real Impact

What the YODA journey actually looks like.

Every student's story is their own. Here are two that show how differently the three years can unfold.

Samriddhi

From uncertainty to clarity

Samriddhi's Journey

Samriddhi entered the Year of Discovery unsure about what she wanted to pursue. Through guided exploration, research, and hands-on projects, she discovered her interest in policy and public systems.

By the end of the program, she had:

Built a strong portfolio of meaningful work
Gained confidence in expressing her ideas
Secured admission into a top liberal arts programme

Today, Samriddhi is pursuing a path she chose with clarity and confidence.

Turning passion into direction
